Do you mean hypo treatment ? If so, as long as it's quick acting, doesn't matter. A drink is fine, lucozade, orange juice, Coke etc. If not, jelly babies or dextrose tablets or similar. Sorry if I've misread your question.

For me if my next meal is within an hour I treat with qa liquid such as lucozade. If longer away, I treat the hypo as usual and follow up with 10~15 carb snack to prevent another one. (if thats what u mean)

If gone hypo in the night, then on a pump, all that's needed is lucozade, jellybabies etc. No need to eat carb as well cos bg levels will go up too much

Easier said than done ihs lol.
fully agree through the night just the qa should be sufficient due to inactivity and only basal working. Trouble is when it happens and I correct I feel absolutely starving!

Yes when on injections we gave a sugar drink 10 mins later if above 4 we gave a carb but now the nurse said we can only give a drink but its hard as she always hungry after a hypo and used to a biscuit afterwards

The reason being is that it is only fast acting used in the pump so the hypo treatment brings you back up to normal levels and providing the basal is correct that would be enough to keep BSs level. The snack on MDI was to keep blood sugar levels up as there was always long acting insulin in the body. As I understand it anyway.
