Hypos post stressful incident

Hi. I have type 1 but also MS. As a result of the MS I often fall. I did yesterday and ended up being carted off to a&e for hip and knee xrays. Fortunately nothing broken but only allowed home after I could prove I could walk 5 metres with a frame. In the middle of the night my husband rescued me from a huge hypo - 1.8 for starters - it has previously been suggested that a stressful incident can cause hypos a few hours later and I'm just interested to know what others think, thanks.

hi @Poohsl
welcome to the forum !!:)

in my experience that sort of thing has happened to me as well
following a particularly stressful event - seeing a very low blood sugar in the following 12 hours or so.

glad your hubby was able to get you sorted !!:)

Hi @Poohsl . Welcome to the forum. Hope you're not in to much discomfort at the moment.
I find stress related hypos far worse than hypos caused by physical exertion.
Fortunately not had to many but they seem to have a knack of creeping up with far less warning.
You're not alone.

Classic treatment for shock - hot sweet tea - though for me it had always to be cold water - the colder the better - my metabolism has always been off kilter.
You, on the other hand seem to have the 'normal' reaction, but delayed.
The one thing we all have in common is that we are all different.

Welcome @Poohsl :)

I hope you're feeling ok now.

Yes, I've had a stress hypo before and they're vicious.
