We all experience slightly different symptoms with hypos.
But a good starting point to understanding them is this page: https://www.diabetes.co.uk/what-is-a-hypo.html

(www.diabetes.co.uk has an amazing diabetes reference library of material like this and is very easy to navigate. If you remember to start on the "Home" page, you can find most pages using the Search feature).

I find it worrying that your doctor has put you on insulin without explaining about hypos.
I hope you have hypo treatment to hand at all times. This needs to be some carbs which are very quickly absorbed. Some people use drinks like lucozade or coke (not the diet versions). I use GlucoTabs or Dextrose which you can purachse at most pharmacies. Unfortunately, chocolate is not great because the fat slows down the carb absorption.

I hope you see some morning improvements with your Humulin.

My diabetic nurse just gave me a leaflet nothing much else going to ring me Tuesday to see how I’m doing and to tell me if I have to increase it

Do you live alone? If you don't then it's worth telling your housemates about hypos so that they can help you should you become confused. (If you do live alone then don't panic, plenty of single people mange insulin and hypos.)
