This is classic where the exercise you do is the best for you. I was having a conversation today with a European and curent World Karate champion. He was trying to persuade me to do veterans, my heart says yes but my head says no, as I am really happy with the lifting for now and next year I am going to incorporate more calisthenics for functional strength. I have decided not to push too hard with the heavy weights as when I was in my 20's benching 150 kg, the strain gave me piles (sorry if one is eating). I am trying with mainly OMAD and Glut 4 up take to use minimally my pancreas and liver.@Mbaker . Sounds like a good routine there. Like the idea of moving the blood/ oxygen requirements throughout the body in a short space of time.
Not to long ago I was doing a 10 exercise, 10 rep , 10 minute routine. Gruelling but fun. The way it was structured made it doable but quite demanding.
Have to admit that nowadays I steer away from the heavy weights. Age, old joints especially, shoulders make for a longer than acceptable recovery time required
Much prefer HIIT and Tabata training nowadays. Heart and lungs over pecs and bi’s![]()
