I got a purple stick!!!!!!!!!!!

So have I!!! Yay!!!!!!

Tested last night, for the first time in about a week, and was very surprised to see that it was between four and eight. I'm hoping it's not an effect of the bad tummy after taking CQ10 - although that was 48 hours ago now. I feel like I'm actually making progress!

Sure you haven't all been snacking on the Beetroot in a jar?

I am so happy for you Julia. Is it showing anything on the scales yet?

Mine is the palest of pink, or it was last night, but it is no more than I deserve after my chocolate fest. I ate nothing but protein yesterday (one gram of carb all day  ) I may get a little colour back again soon. That will teach me!

Remember lots of water dilutes the result. I am deep into Ketosis but have never had a deep purple, two down is my best.

Well, you are missing out Def. There is nothing like a lovely dark purple stick to make your day ;)

I know, I wanted it so bad at one time, but am happy just being in Ketosis, one purple would have been nice though

I'm losing weight slowly. In total I've gone from 11st 4lbs to 10st 9lbs. It's not a lot, but I'm really pleased with just over half a stone - sounds better put that way! :D

That chocolate was amazing. I think those people who said you must haven't burned it off in stress were right. And you deserved it, the chocolate, I mean. That was a miserable afternoon for you. And scary. I once received a hug from a lovely Downs guy - he was a grown man really, and he hugged so hard I cracked a rib. They don't know their own strength.

Def, as long as you're losing weight and you're happy, you don't need a purple stick. You're doing so well!

You changed stones    You are doing really well. I want to get to your starting weight as my final goal. One of the benefits of being tall, also I can reach things on the high shelves in supermarkets.

Thanks Julia. I may see what happens again at some point, high carb food that is, not my son going mental with me. I will save it for one of my kids birthdays I expect.

I get the opposite from elderly people...Can you get that for me? That, right down there...it'll be something they've dropped, or last week in Asda, the last pack of crisps right at the back on the lowest shelf. The lady said you're small, you'll fit in there!

I'm sort of disappointed that the weight isn't coming off a bit faster, but this feels maintainable and safer.

Can I say that I am a little bit proud? :D

Been very low carbing for nearly a week, just got my sticks delivered to-day and I am in the pink. :)

I realise I'm not in the Majestic Purple Superheros category yet but I am getting there ....I hope.

Well done Catza. Mine is darkest near to bedtime. It might be worth you trying a few times during the day to find your best purple time. It took me ages to get to the really dark colour that is on the tub.

Mine is still somewhere between four and eight but, pleasingly, that's after six 250ml glasses of water throughout the day. I had thought I was going to drown drinking so much water, or live my life in the loo, but I haven't been very often at all. knowing my luck I'll be retaining it all.....

I've just got my Deepest Purple <insert smoke on water gag> ever, I reckon halfway between 4 and 8...

I'm off to Detroit on tomorrow, where my ketone blood testing meter has been patiently waiting for me for the past month. Was having a little chat on Facebook with Jimmy Moore, who has read the new (as yet unpublished) Phinney and Volek book which recommends testing blood ketones once a day for 60 days. At $5 per test strip, I'm not sure I'll be going that far.

I was looking at a BG and ketone meter all in one a couple of weeks ago. I came very close to clicking order, but I am not as obsessed with ketones as I once was, as I know I have them, and would get a purple [brag, boast] if I didn't drink as much water. So I was well behaved and didn't order.

Safe flight across the pond, I'm sure we shall all miss you, and your insight into our shared condition.

Thank you Def! I'm not sure but I think that they might have this internet thing in America too, so I may even check in once or twice if I get bored.
