Hi y'all, I'am a 22 year old Filipino Guy who lives in the Philippines and i wanted to share some of my experiences from the past 2 years of me having these symptoms that are VERY similar with people that has a high glucose level/s. So, at around June of 2020, i had a huge headache but the next day, it subsided but it was replaced by dizziness and i felt it for a whole week. Then i started noticing floaters everyday, increased sensitivity towards natural light, some blurriness and a doubled vision. There is also this symptom where if i would look over to the side without tilting my head, i could see this little dark purple-ish spot on both of my eyes but i could only see it if i moved my eyes into the peripheral sections. At first, i got anxious on why i was having these symptoms around my eyes and i got scared because i thought that my blood sugar is starting to go over the limits. Had an eye check-up the very same month that year and the doctor said that i probably got my eye strained so i just ruled it out as well of me having asthenopia and my health anxiety went away.... for a while. Around late September to October 2020, i noticed that i was feeling a bit hungry even though i ate breakfast that time and this happened a few minutes before our lunch time. I was so confused at first and i looked it up again and it said that i might have a high blood sugar; and so after that, my healthy anxiety returned. started to experience some additional symptoms like dryness around my mouth and some dry patches around the gaps of my fingers on my right hand. Some of my friends said that i should just use baby oils for the dryness to subside and so i did it and it worked actually but my increased hunger and thirstiness that time was still there so i decided to be a bit more physically active by doing some exercises through my cardio, i've done it for only 2 months and i stopped doing it before the first week of February last year. months later and i seem to feel normal again like no thirstiness or any hunger since i started eating a lot again and i always drink a lot of water after every foods that i eat even if its snack time only. I do eat a lot of veggies though during these phase but i also ate a lot of carbs and sugary foods/drinks with no exercise and me doing some household chores is my only physical activity. So for this year, i started to experience pooping a lot of liquid stools just last month of July (mid). But last week, when we went onto the vet clinic for the check up of my mom and uncle's dogs and after the check-up where we are about to go home already, they left the dogs in the clinic and said that the oldest one who was vomiting a lot and was not eating for 3 days was diagnosed with diabetes with liver complications. So because of it, it triggered me AGAIN about my health anxiety towards diabetes and when i went home, i immediately adjusted my food habits. the symptoms came back but this time, its the other way around where i experience the dryness of my mouth more than the increased hunger, also noticed that there is a bit of a light yellowish shade around the pinky finger of my right foot, frequent color of urine despite drinking lots of water daily is pale yellow, numbness around my body became a bit more frequent (not too much though) and yesterday, i saw these brownish underlines around my right armpit that i was 100% sure was not even there before. I also have some at my left armpit but its much more visible on my right one. I started doing exercises again last week by using our stationary bike daily for around 20+ minutes. The main purpose of this thread is just for me to share my experiences in case if anyone out there in the internet who happens to be on a similar boat as i'am, they could relate to it and of course, my symptoms are bit more similar towards patients with a high glucose level. Though i'am still not completely sure about my current status so i'm kind of hoping that i could do a blood test soon but i'am still not ready at the moment. I just wanted to get these off my chest but if y'all wanted to say anything about my current status, then you are free to do it. If you happened to reach until this point, thank you very much for wasting your time over an anxious person who is having some similar symptoms with high glucose level. Have a great day. :)

P.S Family History: my grandmother is not diabetic, same with my grandfather though some of his siblings contracted the disease but my grandpa did not. Father is a healthy man who is a vegetarian and my mother doesn't have diabetes despite being overweight though she does have hypertension sometimes and an early on-set of arthritis. My weight is only around 130 pounds and i'm not obese but i do have a big belly haha.

Hi @Miguel22 and welcome to the forums.

Though i'am still not completely sure about my current status so i'm kind of hoping that i could do a blood test soon but i'am still not ready at the moment.

Though I'm sure that many of us can relate and sympathise with your health anxiety, in my opinion you should seriously consider getting that blood test. Even if you do have diabetes, it is not a death sentence, and the sooner you find out about it the sooner you can prevent it from damaging your health.

If you don't have diabetes, then a test will save you from a lot of needless anxiety.

Forum rules specifically say we can't diagnose, please get some medical advice.

Try to get a fasting insulin test as well as a fasting blood glucose test. It's possible that you aren't diabetic but may be in the very early stages of insulin resistance. IR can start very many years before T2 diagnosis.

As Ellie says, the sooner you get the tests done the better. Worrying won't do you any good.

Yeah, i was still scared at first about getting a blood test because of how much blood it would take like i never had it before in my whole life. So instead, i decided to adjust my lifestyle instead by eating more fruits every single day after a meal and even during snack hours (3-4 pm), daily exercising by using our stationary bike for 25+ minutes, eating less of sweets and carbs (i do still eat rice every day since i'm asian and its our staple food here so i have no choice since i still live with my grandparents (who thinks that i'am overreacting about myself having these symptoms) but i don't even eat rice a lot yet i still decreased the usual amount that i take just in case. Most of the people here in our household are disregarding these symptoms because for them, i'am just overreacting and i'am still young for me to have those health dilemmas as one of my problems. If nothing changed within this month up to first week of September, then i will get the blood test asap. Thank You for your advice :)

To be honest, i avoid thinking of me having diabetes but i'm being much more realistic by having a thought of me (as what you said) being insulin resistant because i don't want to take diabetes as a light topic since i'am completely aware that it ain't that simple or too quick to contract the disease and also because of the thought of other people having this disease and their hardships before and after contracting it. I'am sacrificing a lot here as well but you know what, if its for me having a healthier body then okay.
