Hi guys, quick question.. Has anyone ever known there blood sugars to rise on gliclazide? Eaten and drank same as yesterday..What else could it be.. I'm so confused x

I have never used gliclazide but to be fair there won't be a great deal of change overnight it may take a while for your body to adapt to differing treatment. The rise could also be any number of reasons (as above) how much was the rise ?
give it time see how it is in a week or so

Thank you both. I've been on it for a couple of years now.. On and off. My bloods have never been great but neither has my willpower. Anyway, been eating similar things over a few days. Low carbs. 1 Low calorie meal and 1 huel meal replacement. Been testing. Thought was working well till had sudden reading 10 higher than previous reading despite a drop after meal. Not sure where I'm going wrong. Wasnt exercising and I'm not I'll.. Any advise? X

In my experience Gliclazide alone won't keep bgs down. I'm on a very low carb diet which in addition to Gliclazide helps. If I forget to take the med then my bgs shoot up pretty quickly.

As has been said there could be a myriad of reasons why your bgs have risen. T2 diabetes behaves in a non linear way so it might be wise not to react to a few negative results. However if it continues it might be the time to tweak your diet and see what happens.

Do you do any exercise such as walking, swimming, gym etc?
