I get really annoyed very easy type 1 for just over a year

It's not mental health, it's not depression and an outlet for anger such as boxing or martial arts will not alleviate the sudden onset of anger as it is not something that builds up over time, it's much more like a switch goes of in your brain it flicks on and that's it and it flicks of just as quick leaving a trail behind it, rather like a tornado....I have written this on behalf of my husband, he was diagnosed 2'ish years ago and takes metformin 500mg. He follows doctors orders with regards to diet and lifestyle.

My hubby does not class himself as mentally ill, he is however mentally disabled and cannot read or write due to cognitive impairment, which is why I write on his behalf.

It sounds like it could be a symptom of depression. It must be affecting your daily life for you to be concerned and I would ask the Dr for a referral to a psychiatrist for a proper diagnosis of what"s going on. He may suggest something simple but I always go to the top dog first

David, you just gotta do what's right for you and your situation, there is an awful lot of people on this forum with the same problem regarding sudden onset aggression, just do a search on the forum for anger or aggression, there are lots of threads with even more posts on those threads from even more people with the same issues. According to some this is apparently a symptom of 'depression' does this mean that the hundreds if not thousands of diabetic forum members are depressed, if so, does this mean that all depressed people are diabetic???......I think not!!! This is a very real issue that tens of thousands of people are living with, as are their partners and other loved ones, but are the doctor's listening???

Very true dragon I guess it's about time docs took diabetics more serious I hear all the time about people getting lectured about using 2 many test strips by there docs it's a flipping joke I use 200 a month and they ain't said anything to me yet but I'm ready for him when he dose say ... If he dose that is lol

Hey - phew not just me then !!

2 years diagnosed, the tipping point came for me about 6 months ago whilst screeching at my 5 year old and getting so down about it I then took action - I practice meditation now and try to live in the present rather than worrying about the future, it has worked, as long as i'm not thinking 'what's my sugars doing' and 'what can I eat with raising my BG' and 'am i having a hypo' and the other trillion thoughts that often run through my mind on a daily basis - I am pretty much back to my old chilled out self, still get off days like anyone else, but feel better.
