I got Covid.

My throat is sore and i feel hot and tired. I still need to do a PCR test but not available in my area>
I hope it doesn't get worse because i couldn't sleep last night due to my throat.

I will try getting a PCR test done to confirm the test results.

I am now stressing over getting a PCR home testing kit. currently no availability as yet. although people have told me there is no difference in the PCR and lateral flow test. i shal wait and see if theres any availability

I think the PCR test are for people with the Covid symptoms and Lateral Flow are if you have no symptoms - if you have been infected 30 min result. All sounds bizarre to me. No availability is not good :doctor:

I will do another Lateral Flow test in 7 days and if its negative then im good. - if PCR is available i will do that test too.[/QUOTE]

I got a negative lateral flow test, but it was some time after the symptoms started, and I have heard that the Omicron version in particular simply doesn't show up once the symptoms have developed as the virus has migrated from the nose by then.

My brother is in exactly the same situation now waiting for the whole PCR, lateral flows can be less accurate but that plus all the symptoms probably do tend to suggest.

So, I hope you feel better soon

The shortages of tests aren’t helpful of course

I did it twice and it came back positive. - I aint well i am laying in bed, i cannot go to a drive-by PCR testing site due to me feeling terrible and of course being advised to stay home so the home kit will need to be the only option

I feel hot and my throat is sore, i generally feel weak and tired. - i hope it clears soon so i can feel better. all i know is i am not well and my lateral flow test was positive and i am now in my room in bed.

Was that a PCR test kit you got today, @UsmanMo96? Going by your OP & the timing, maybe not. You can get one from the GOV site... https://www.gov.uk/get-coronavirus-test

Feel better soon. I have all the same going on, all RLF tests negative, but I feel so carp, isolating is easy & my choice.

No, i got a lateral flow test.
Home tests for the general public NONE AVAILABLE

i will wait for it to be available

I thought it was just RLF test shortage that should be er...sorted by tomorrow. That there's a PCR shortage too. :depressed:

There are some local to me, but there must be large parts of the country that has a shortage. With NYE, not so good.

My grandsons have had or got covid around Christmas, for some reasons, we don't seem to have a local shortage, but that is certainly to follow every where else.

It does seem to be spreading quickly.
And looking at the stats, we compare with the states and China and top of infections in Europe. I think we will pay the price in the New Year, with the spike due mid to late January, it is far to late to bring in any restrictions at all. Think the NHS will probably get overrun with snotty patients.
The political actions of the last decade are unforgivable.

I have tested positive on day 6. - My PCR results will be available for me on friday. - i will test again on day 7 or day 10. but i don't know what else to do other than keep isolating till i get a negative result on the lateral flow test.
