Hello! I hope someone can help me,
I have been seeing my partner for the past 10 months and he has type 2 diabetes which he controlls by eating healthly and through exercise. He is 43 and I am 27. As things are getting serious and we are looking to move in together, he has begun stressing about the long term implications of his diabetes on our relationship.
He is worried that in a few years he may become ill and that I will be "lumbered" with him whilst I am still in "my prime" as he puts it. I have tried to re-assure him that I am here for him regardless of what happens and will look after him. He says I need to think long and hard about what our future could be like if he was taken ill so I am asking you to give me an idea of what I am getting myself into. I will stick with him anyway, I just want to show him that I understand and try to settle his fears. I know everyones different but would appreciate it if some of you could give me some advice based on your experiences.
Thanks for reading!
