After an ordinary blood test last August, when my GP announced to me that I diabetes type 2, it came yo me as a shock, as I had none of the usual symptoms, an no history of diabetes in the whole family. I was not obese, did not smoke or drink. I thought: that cannot be right. The GP said to me you did nothing wrong, and it can just happen because of stress, anxiety, or fatigue.
I became quite depressed and really sad for more than a week, and did not tell anyone about it. I went back the following week to meet the nurse to sort out a plan of action. I was put on Metforrmin 500, initially for one tablet a day, and was asked to watch out my diet.
I would spend hours on the internet, and all I could read are some scary stories about becoming blind, loosing your limbs, etc. Others talked about some scary side effects of Metformin. I was so scared, that I decided not to take it. I took a very radical route: a very strict low carb diet and nothing sugary. Within days I started feeling tingly in my legs and arms. I was starving my body. I lost weight and became really tired. I soon realised I was not doing the right thing, and I was hurting my body.
I decided to start taking Metformin, 1 pill a day at lunch time. I was very surprised that I did not have any of the side effects whatsoever, none of things that people scared me about. Then In started looking at traditional medicine and diet. I started eating enough carbs without going over 200g a day. But the biggest secret was when I read about the effect of vinegar and hot water; First thing in the morning drink a glass of boiled water (leave it to cool a bit, just like tea), and I drink another one just before going to bed. After every meal, take a glass of water with a teaspoon of cider vinegar. I also started exercising; I would do only 20 minutes, jogging in the evening just before sunset.
After three months I had a blood test, and when I went to see my GP about the result, his first question was: tell me in details what did you in a typical day since your were diagnosed with diabetes?? I repeated to him the above. Then he said, I have some good news for you: you are not diabetic any more! I cried from joy. My determination and belief that I could reverse it, did pay off.
That was two months ago. In four months time, I will be having another blood test to see how I am doing. At the advice of the GP, I am still taking Metformin, and it did wonders to me. I lost a bit of weight, which is great: I am enjoying wearing small size cloths, which I really love. The bit of fat around my waist has gone.
I decided to share my story with the hope that others will benefit from it. Diabetes type 2 can be reversed. Belief in yourself, follow the tips I have given, and within weeks you will see the difference.
I am happy to give tips to other people who are desperate to beat it and turn their life around for the better.
