I have reversed my diabetes type 2 - my experience

Type 2
After an ordinary blood test last August, when my GP announced to me that I diabetes type 2, it came yo me as a shock, as I had none of the usual symptoms, an no history of diabetes in the whole family. I was not obese, did not smoke or drink. I thought: that cannot be right. The GP said to me you did nothing wrong, and it can just happen because of stress, anxiety, or fatigue.

I became quite depressed and really sad for more than a week, and did not tell anyone about it. I went back the following week to meet the nurse to sort out a plan of action. I was put on Metforrmin 500, initially for one tablet a day, and was asked to watch out my diet.
I would spend hours on the internet, and all I could read are some scary stories about becoming blind, loosing your limbs, etc. Others talked about some scary side effects of Metformin. I was so scared, that I decided not to take it. I took a very radical route: a very strict low carb diet and nothing sugary. Within days I started feeling tingly in my legs and arms. I was starving my body. I lost weight and became really tired. I soon realised I was not doing the right thing, and I was hurting my body.

I decided to start taking Metformin, 1 pill a day at lunch time. I was very surprised that I did not have any of the side effects whatsoever, none of things that people scared me about. Then In started looking at traditional medicine and diet. I started eating enough carbs without going over 200g a day. But the biggest secret was when I read about the effect of vinegar and hot water; First thing in the morning drink a glass of boiled water (leave it to cool a bit, just like tea), and I drink another one just before going to bed. After every meal, take a glass of water with a teaspoon of cider vinegar. I also started exercising; I would do only 20 minutes, jogging in the evening just before sunset.

After three months I had a blood test, and when I went to see my GP about the result, his first question was: tell me in details what did you in a typical day since your were diagnosed with diabetes?? I repeated to him the above. Then he said, I have some good news for you: you are not diabetic any more! I cried from joy. My determination and belief that I could reverse it, did pay off.

That was two months ago. In four months time, I will be having another blood test to see how I am doing. At the advice of the GP, I am still taking Metformin, and it did wonders to me. I lost a bit of weight, which is great: I am enjoying wearing small size cloths, which I really love. The bit of fat around my waist has gone.

I decided to share my story with the hope that others will benefit from it. Diabetes type 2 can be reversed. Belief in yourself, follow the tips I have given, and within weeks you will see the difference.

I am happy to give tips to other people who are desperate to beat it and turn their life around for the better.

wow! tjis sounds amaze! will try it. I like the non torture approach. I have BMI of 34 (obese) and was wondering how much weight did you loose ?

Welcome,

So you reduced your carbs (and changed the type of carbs) and started exercising every evening so that is probably what put you back into normal response; that was an intelligent approach. The vinegar may have helped but not as much as those two alone - I have read an article about vinegar helping to control glucose release from the gut but then so does coffee and fibre and many other things.

By the way the tingling was a combination of your BG levels coming down and moving into ketosis which probably did more to reset your system than you follow up diet.

Well done on the success and long may you keep it up.

Diabetes type 2 can be reversed.

Well done on achieving such good results. Just one small thing, we are all different.

If you can have normal BG without taking any drug or any other concoction and eat the recommended amount of carbs (1/3 of your calories, so maybe 800 calories, and at 4 calories per gram that's 200 gms) then you are truly cured.

If you're taking Metformin (you are on a low dose) then that should be helping overcome the insulin resistance which is a major problem for most type IIs. If you would like a full picture of your diabetic health see if you can get a c-peptide test done, it will show how healthy your pancreas is, another part of the diabetic puzzle.

I lost almost 7 pounds despite the fact that I am a slip individual (I normally weight 143 pounds).

I lost almost 6
did you count carbs in veg and fruit ?
Yes I did. For vegetables, the rule of thumb: any vegetable that grow above ground, are good for a diabetic. For fruits, just avoid grapes, anything else with moderation.
