Totally agree.. Enjoy your allotment.. There is nothing better for a hobby...one thing I wanted was a big garden and at 170' it's long with loads of fruit trees now in their 2nd winter, 2 raised strawberry beds, an as asparagus raised bed, courgette and runner bean patch and cucumbers now started off indoors and my greenhouse, summer house, wildlife pond and rose bed are all wonderful too. The hellebores in between the roses are looking stunning and were bought 1/2 price in the sales last year so could have died, but are fabulous. Ongoing as just turned over 50' of grass to earth and planted bulbs in. Next job to do is to lay the bark chippings down. Ongoing but wonderful relaxation and fitness.Hi Jopar and welcome back!
Cute aspirational and energising penguin!
I did garlic again, put in 2 rows of cloves at start of November. Our cat,Tabs, doesn't dig them up, just looks at them. They're doing fine, standing a foot tall now, and they've benefited from several cold snaps, like yesterday for example, -2 here and dark and gruesome all day.
We're steadily eating last year's garlic which is hanging in the garage.
Happy New Allotment!![]()
