I was really, really bad this evening.

I know that after sticking to fairly low carb foods for some time I develop a 'reserve of coping' so that a single meal of higher carbs doesn't cause problems - after Christmas dinner I checked my BG saw 5.6 mmol/l and thought that my meter might be broken - but I woke up this morning after a night disturbed by bad dreams and thought I'd check - 8.6 - but that is only to be expected after waking several times with heart pounding terrors.
There should not be much influence on your tests from one meal, so perhaps you'll have 'got away with it' - but there could be some cravings woken up by it. You haven't blown it, so don't give in - just hang on to the memory of how you felt afterwards.

The feeling bad was too many bad carbs. I got my blood work results back and my Hba1c went from 6.1 in September to 5.8 just under the pre-diabetes threshold in Canada. I’m now “at risk.”
Unfortunately my lipids got worse so I need to work on addressing that as well as my diabetes.
