Type 1.5 I was recently taken off a train and admitted to hospital with a severe ketone acidosis.

Ketone attack. Vomiting blood and taken off train. I was in a right mess. The dabetic consultant thinks i may have lada and not type two. She said people usually have diabetes thirty years before they get my symptoms. I would like thoughts please

How awful for you! I hope you're feeling a bit better now.

Have you had any tests to try to determine your diabetes type? Yes, some adults are assumed to be Type 2 but are really Type 1/LADA.

Can you tell us a little more about your symptoms and treatment, etc, before your dreadful train experience?

Have they started you on Insulin?

There are few members that have GP and I believe the diabetes has usually been the first disease prior to the diabetes.

Your status is showing lada now, but it seems you were thinking T2D at the time of the incident,

What medication were you on at the time? There are some oral meds that could do this. Do you know what your bgl readings were when you went into hospital?
