Thanks for your replies and yes it's a little scary. Thing was I had had a bath so stupidly was walking about bare foot something I never normally do, so will drop in to the surgery and get it looked at or make appointment. I do have PN but it's mainly in the other leg and foot or so I thought.
Yes, I definitely agree that you really must get your toe looked at tomorrow, ie before the weekend. If I may suggest, please keep a clean, dry dressing on your wound, keep it dry and keep your foot up on a stool, so you leg is level.
It's really important that this wound is given the best possible chance to heal quickly, without infection. I'm confident that the Nurse/GP you see tomorrow will (should) suggest the same. Hopefully, they will then keep an eye on it until they're confident it's healed OK.
Do you have someone at home who can keep an eye on your feet, seeing as you appear not to be feeling such injuries? If not, a daily check, using a mirror perhaps, might be an idea.
As already mentioned, please do post back what the 'professional' advice and treatment, and view etc, is tomorrow. Take care
