Ice cold Greek Yoghurt is much nicer than ice-cream and you can either sprinkle Cinnamon over (as I do) or add a few strawberry pieces ( or another berry of your choice)Hi all. Just been confirmed Diabetic. Am I allowed any ice cream at all? T2 on metformin. How many carbs should I limit myself to? Thank uuuuu. X.
Thank you but I’m confused. Can I have double cream ? I thought that had sugar?? Can I whip it? Sorry if I’m dim. XIf you can find Oppo ice cream it has a lot fewer carbs than regular although not sure I'd call it "low" 16-18% carbs for ice cream isn't toooo bad.
Often in Sainsbury, Tesco and Waitrose.. I'd wait until its on offer...
Edit to add.. double cream poured over frozen raspberries can be pretty good too...

Thanks so much. That’s a delicious dessert.Double cream is 1.6% carbs so far better than any ice cream.. and yes you can whip it but watch out or you'll get butter if you go too far..
I LOVE my double creamThanks so much. That’s a delicious dessert.
Well I am doing low carb right now .. between 25 to perhaps 35 per day. I also do fasts of around 16 hours which means from the last meal of one day to the first of the next (so either missing breakfast or having a late one). In the first ten days I lost 14lbs!Thank you. I didn’t realise we could have bacon and sausages (just assumed no even if grilled) that’s a luxury breakfast. How many carbs should I stick to? X

I see thank you.People choose different amounts depending on their individual health, medication, desire to lose weight, etc.
The best way to find out how foods affect you is to get a meter and test 2 hours after eating, then adjust accordingly—if a meal causes it to rise more than 2 mmol/L, it’s likely too carb-heavy (but can be worth checking more than once in case of other variables).
Yes I do. Not been great 6.5 fasting now but been hitting 9 and 10 2 hrs after. But I’m on it now and metformin only been 4 days. XYes I second what danziger suggests.
I never thought to ask if you have a bg meter?

Toast a few flaked almonds. In a ramiken, nuke a couple of squares of 85% or higher chocolate. Add sliced berries of your choice, add double cream, top with the toasted almonds.
Google keto chocolate mug cake, serve with double cream.
