Does that make them type 1? I always thought once diagnosed as type 2 then you are always type 2 and it's just that you've progressed to needing insulin. Had a discussion with another diabetic who was diagnosed as type 2 in his 40s and was put on insulin years later. He now believes he is classed as type 1. I thought you were only type 1 if you need insulin from the outset. I know it doesn't really make any difference, I'm just a bit curious
