The squeaky wheel gets the grease. I went to see the team at my diabetes centre today, and they are finally starting to look at my results and take notice. However, they want a clearer picture of my blood sugars and what they are doing, which is a very reasonable request. Therefore, my DSN has fitted me with a continuous blood glucose sensor for the next 6 days. I have to make a note of all my food/exercise and test my blood as usual to ensure the sensor is working properly. I will then have another appointment at the end of next month to discuss the results. Exciting stuff!

It sure is, very enlightened practise, good news for you, don't ****** it up will you.

I hope they are made of Fimo!! I make these for little bracelets.

Hi

I take it that you will go back to the dsn next week so that the data can be uploaded? I personally didnt like not knowing what the cgm was doing so was busy bg testing as well.

How cool :) I'd love to try this, look forward to seeing your results (assuming doctor who doesn't get you with he's screwdriver first)

I am giving the sensor back next week, and then going for a follow up appointment at the end of April to discuss the results. I have to test my blood as normal to make sure that the sensor is functioning properly, and write down everything I do food and exercise wise. That way, any highs or lows can be explained easily.

Definitely giving this one a go. Thank you! Have got some edible sparkly dusts from my cake decorating days so will check the ingredients and splash a bit around to pretty things up lol! Will make a nice Mother's Day treat with an afternoon cuppa me thinks

I have had some unfortunate setbacks. At my appointment my DSN said she could tell exactly where I injected, and that I needed to steer clear of those areas because I had used them too much. She told me I would need to reduce my insulin dose because I would absorb it more quickly in fresh injection sites. I had no idea how right she was. I reduced my insulin dose, but not by enough, as I had a 2.0 yesterday and a 1.9 today. Eek!

Sorry you've had some lows. Take care.
(I find it quite hard to rotate to different injection sites. I never remember where I injected last time, I think I tend automatically to head for the areas which are used to it!!! Quite often I have to ask myself whether I have injected or not! Perhaps I should use a marker pen to mark the spot and then add the time amd date.)

I have managed to be quite strict with myself rotating sites so far. The sensor has now gone back to the hospital to be analysed, and I will find out how I did at the end of the month.
