I'm an Eejit!

Arrived at work this morning and when I went to do my morning Levermir injection I found out that I have left the pen at home. Erse that I am.
Anyway my question is do I compensate by increasing the Novo Rapid i take at lunch and tea?

I would just take it when I got home and watch out for any overlap if you split.
Otherwise you can give a correction if you are high.

Best option would going to get it next best thing correct 4 hours apart and if your metre takes ketone strips use them when u test your blood sugars
the minute you feel really rough or start to get ketones go home
I've been in this situation my self things can take a turn for the worse quickly

Hi @HigherThanThe_Sun My recommendation is to test every 3 hours, correcting with novorapid and then taking a half basal dose when you get home.

If you're near a Boots you can pick up a pen there ?

I've done it, it happens, it's just a pain having to do the calculations and work it out but as long as you don't get 'higher than the sun' today you will be fine (sorry I couldn't resist !) :)

Good luck let us know how you get on :)

We are all eejits then. I once injuected my levemir than discovered that it was in fact humalog having mixed up the pens in a drunken state. Think I got a pump on the criteria of being an eejit....Hope your day unfolds more smoothly tomorrow.

I have to admit to being an eejit on more than one occasion with my injections, then put on the pump and went and pulled my cannula out with no replacement!!! got an early finish that day.

Could have been worse, could have left the quick acting at home as well! :meh:

Hope you managed to keep on top of it?

Not sure what is going on here, my reading before tea was 4.7 despite no Levermir at 09:00 this morning and only a slight correction at lunch.
Maybe i should forget my Levermir more often.

Glad to hear things worked out, even if it was different from how you expected.
And thanks for updating us. :)

There are supposed to be guardian angels who look after children, idiots and drunkards - you must have got one of those on your case today.
I am really glad to read that you are OK - but have to give a shake of the head and a roll of the eyes - 'cos I do worry.

Excellent news @HigherThanThe_Sun That's a great result - glad you're ok, you can relax now, i'm sure you won't be repeating that any time soon :)

So did you do many 'corrections' with the quick acting during the day? if you did 4.7 before tea is great and sort of says you might be better off with a pump!

Only did a correction of 2 at lunchtime. The only thing i can think of that may have produced the low BG is that I cycled through the streets of Edinburgh for half an hour on my way to get the train home.
