Hi all,
I'm new here. my name is Naomi but friends call me Tilly. I'm 29, married, from south coast of England. I am awaiting tests to confirm that i have type 2 diabetes, although it seems pretty clear from symptoms and risk factors alone. i'm a little anxious about it as i know that exercise is an important factor in managing diabetes, but due to several other long term disabling conditions, I am not really able to do much. I am registered disabled and mostly housebound.
I joined this forum to learn more about the condition and living with it, but also to make friends and chat to people.
my interests are varied and i'll happily talk about most things. I am very passionate about animals, I have six big dogs, four cats and an ape ....erm sorry i mean husband. the four legged ones are like my babies, as i dont have any human babies. I am currently sitting in bed surrounded by them, and they are mostly snoring.
anyway, i am pleased to meet you all and hope to make a few friends here so drop me a line anytime.
thanks for having me!

Six dogs! Wow, either you are brave, or they are much better behaved than my two monsters? lol .
Welcome to the world of diabetes... it's not quite as scary as they'd have you believe :-)

Hi Tilly wow 6 dogs I have 2 dogs and4 cats I just about manage them what kind of dogs do you have.
hi,
my dogs are a strange bunch.
there is
Charlie a 14 year old rescued greyhound and doggy daddy to 20
Shelby a 6 year old rescued spring-triever and doggy mummy to 20
Brutus and Charletta 4 year olds (who share my birthday!) mix of Charlie and Shelby.
Jim and Pepa (roocifer) 3 year old mix of Charlie and Shelby.
they are all quite nuts and not at all smart. the dog i grew up with, Tizzi, was so much smarter. i even taught her sign language for some tricks. She helped raise Shelby when she was bought into the fold as a youngster but none of the cleverness rubbed off! they are all adorable though and as most are greyhound or greyhound cross, they are quite lazy and easy to look after. they spend most of the time sleeping in a pile with legs everywhere!
my smallest is over 20kg (not even overweight) so they are quite big.
my biggest, Brutus is maybe going to become a therapy dog, working with disabled people, children and the elderly. he is also hoping to start attending Dorchester Town football matches.
my cats are all rescues, one, Diego, was given to me by my vet after he was abandoned in a box on their doorstep one winter night. he is a house cat now because of a life long medical problem. the others are Pocket, Onion and Cat. they all go out and hassle the neighbours. they love cuddles with the dogs too.
