Oh guys, please help. I'm getting there but my biggest problem is PORRIDGE. It is messing my levels up. I brought ready brek cause it looked low but sent my bloods sky high.... Why? I am waiting to go to a group where I hope all my questions can be answered. Can anyone recommend a porridge please

LIZ

No I can't but the only suggestion I have is that you try less of it and see what that does to your sugar.

If porridge is really causing you problems why not just avoid it and try another cereal ? Certain foods just don't suit everyone unfortunately.

Thanks guys, can I ask another question please. I hope it is simple to answer. I went and got some books today which are great but I can't get my head around the difference between GI and GL. My doctor told me to go for low GI foods

GI is a number representing the absorption rate of food but takes no heed of how big a portion of that food you might eat at a sitting. GL is a modification of the GI taking portion size into account. At least, that's how I understand it.
