I'm not sure whether I've injected

This is a bit embarrassing as I should have sorted this problem by now.
I use Multiple Daily Injections.
It's 03:10, I woke 30 minutes ago sensing that my BG was high. Did a test. Was 10.2.
Recorded my result(s),
Then, started wondering if I had injected the 3 units of insulin my meter indicated.
I haven't got enough test-strips left to waste on a re-test. I submitted my prescription request yesterday morning and am not sure the strips will be available tomorrow.

I know this chain of events is tedious, and basically I need to be more disciplined with the procedures, but I'm finding that this is happening more often than it used to, I think it's because I'm spending too much time on recording results and I'm not remembering my injections , like I'm on autopilot.

Has anyone had this experience? Any suggestions?

Hi. I take my Basal once a day and put the pen pack on my pillow during the day so I don't forget it at night. It's one advantage of a single daily Basal injection. I occasionally forget the Bolus but that's life. I don't test very often as I'm very predicatable but do focus on taking the insulin and always test before driving.

Oh yes, done that, and it's exactly as you say, you get caught up with the recording and faff associated with it all and forget the main event

I have the Novopen echo for Novorapid that has a gadget on the end of the pen that shows how much and when your last dose was. If you are forgetting more than you are comfortable with, it's worth asking your GP to prescribe the Echo and cartridges ( if you are currently using disposables)

Sanofi don't do this type of memory device on the pen, but there is a clip on device called Insulcheck that works with Sanofi pens and automatically records the dose . www.insulcheck.com . I believe they do free shipping with the discount code BALANCE .

Many thanks @Daibell and @Heathenlass. Thanks to @noblehead too because I remember you recommended the Echo some time ago. Your support has encouraged me to take action at last: I discussed the problem with NovoNordisk and asked about the Echo, and wrote to my GP asking him to change my prescription. More good news, my new supply of test-strips were waiting at Boots, this afternoon.

I don't think I was suffering from senior moments, just diabetes overload, but hopefully things will improve now. :)

Result !:D
No, it's not a senior moment by any means, I think it happens to almost all of us at some point ! Your post struck a chord with me because I did the exact same thing last night:rolleyes: I was dog tired, there was a lot going on, and I wasn't as focussed as usual and thought for a horrible moment I had got the doses the wrong way round and wasn't even certain if I had injected the basal  trusty Echo to the rescue :D

It's just happened to me again! I think I need the Echo!
Woke up, tested, recorded the results on MySugr, and a paper record, packed away! Wait a minute, what about my injections, bolus and basal! Had I done them? Don't know. Injected anyway, thinking marginally that I hadn't. Will have to keep a close eye now on levels. A double basal would be no joke. A double bolus not so bad as I'm doing small shots anyway.
Mistake: I was listening to the news at the same time.
This has got to stop. I've done so much testing/injecting in my life that I'm not going through the process carefully enough.

Its easy to get side-tracked and forget if you've injected, I've had that happen numerous times and its **** annoying, but that's where pens like the Echo come in handy.....much the same with Timesulin device, they are definitely worth getting lizdeluz for these moments of doubt.

Thank you! It's reassuring to know that others have experienced this and that I'm not necessarily losing it. I haven't heard back from my GP yet so my fingers are crossed!
