Hi AmandaThankyou for the support.
I'm just struggling at the moment and feeling not very supported so hopefully being on here will help me.
I really want to become a new me and a healthier me.
I'm starting to worry my slight social anxiety is hindering me as I am not comfortable doing anything diabetes related around people which is obviously a big issue X

Ahhh that's a shame. It might be worth looking at train options though, we have a regular from Cambridgeshire who comes to most meetups. Once we had a guy come all the way from Birmingham!! Well worth the journey in my opinion. Feel free to bring a friend if the journey worries you
Would be great to see you at our meetupsHi Amanda,
I live in Cambridgeshire too I have struggled with my sugars for quite a few years (I was diagnosed at 12 now 26) and only in the last year or so, since I got married in August, and started to think about babies, that I have really been trying to get better control. I was doing really well, brought my HbA1c down from >10% to 7.2% but then I got super stressed out with so much going on in work/personal life I resorted to ignoring my diabetes again. My latest HbA1c was 8.5% I started again by just doing tests whenever I remembered and bolusing before I ate - otherwise I would forget. As someone else said start small and it becomes routine.
I had seen a post about the London meet ups and had meant to ask more about them? I think it would help me immensely to speak to other diabetics who may be on similar positions pre-pregnancy or have been through it. I can't find much online about it all! Nurses are great, but they haven't got the firsthand experience.
