I'm type 1, why do I get bad mood swings?

Asked by Graham on Facebook during the 7pm-8pm live chat with Dr Hilary Jones. Got a question? Ask it here.

There are lots of possible causes but this could be a hypo symptom. There is a poster here that shows the possible symptoms of a hypo: https://www.facebook.com/Diabetes.co.uk/photos/pb.85975211995.-2207520000.1414148144./10153210103771996/?type=1&theater.

Mood is one thing that can change when your blood glucose is running low, so could very well be a symptom that your blood glucose is going low. If your blood sugar is too high and you are tired and dehydrated that could also cause moodiness. Check your blood glucose levels frequently.
