Honest - Justin Cartwright, and I quote:
"In 1960 less than 5% of the population was overweight or obese: now over 60% of adults and 31% of children are officially overweight or obese. Insatiability is a characteristic of our times. It speaks of existential angst and a loss of a moral compass"

There you are, nothing to do with insulin resistance, genetic predisposition, or even records in the 1950s. Fat people are victims of existential anxiety. Sort of.

So we have subsituted the old chestnut about Sexual Immorality - Lust - Evil Person

for Obese/Diabetic = Greed = evil person.

I was with him about the bankers right up to that point. then I realised the author has a seriously weird world view. Made me laugh anyway.
