I have been researching the subject recently and it definitely looks as if animal fats are better for us than plant fats (oils) Since we are not plants, we shouldn't be too surprised.

Hi hanadr - That is is total conflict with everything that I've read about the subject. What is the research that has led you to believe this to be the case? I'd be interested to read it.

Best Wishes - John

John, that is in total conflict with what I have read, been told all my life and as well experienced personally and like you would be very intersted to read it as well.

John / EricD

Over the years I have read many reports, research and trials which actually prove nothing. As far as I am concerned I am not convinced either way. I stick to a low fat diet until somebody comes up with conclusive evidence to prove otherwise.
Eskimo's are put forward as an example of high fat being good for you ? I have no idea if this is true or not. I 'aint an Eskimo. :?
The reason for me sticking to low fat AND low carbs is because I have already had one major heart op and I don't fancy another !
I do know that my trigs and lipids along with Bg levels are all falling since I started to reduce my Carbohydrate intake.
I haven't increased or reduced my fat intake at all.

Draw your own conclusions.

Ken.
