Hi sorry I don't post often... but I am a "bad" diabetic so mostly need the help and guidance rather than pass it out and be hypocritical!
I am 18 years old and since the age of 15 my HBA1Cs (or whatever they're called :? ) have ranged between 11-17... they've not gone up gradually but sort of spiralled up and down.
I don' t know what was my reality check but a few months ago I realised I needed to get a grip and invested in a freestyle navigator... I know it was costly and probably the "easy" way- but to be honest it has lowered my HBA1Cs beyond belief and with a four month gap between it went from 13.9 (before I had the Navigator) to 7.1...
However, I feel awful
I can't sleep, I wake up feeling unbelievably sick (BS been 8 when I go to bed and 4 when I wake up), and I feel spaced out/headachey constantly. It's short term, if I spend 24 hours with my blood sugars about 12 I feel great. I know this isn't the answer, but it is knackering me with lower blood sugars...
Does anyone have any experience of this? Is it just a case of "sitting it out" until my body accepts that 7 is the right blood sugar level?
Thanks for any help in advance
