Lately I dunno what's taken over me! The thought of a basal or bolus bring on a cold sweat, and I feel light headed and sick! Been diabetic for a year now and on MDI. Been reading think like a pancreas and came across this device called insuflon or an iport, so I was wondering if anyone has used it or know anything about it? Or have any advice for me please, thank you x

Only for really, really ill and sick diabetics...

Can improve people's life if you need one... Only know of 1 person that's had one.

As far as I'm concerned ..NOT a cosideration for me!!!

The I-port is apparently not a prescription device so you can buy it directly.
It's available in the UK but costs £143 a month.

I've read of the Insuflon being prescribed for a few children. If you google you find that it's on NHS prescribing lists. Google also found a person on another forum buying them for himself. In 2009 he says that they were under £50 for a box of 10 , he was only using them once a month for a 'rest' . (in the same thread a mother mentions using the I-port, they were also buying them )

You could read about them and discuss them with the doctor but I very much fear that you would have to self fund.
