Hi. I'm type 1 (3 years) and exercise regularly, 3 or 4 times a week, mixed between cardio, weights and football. My big problem is I haven't worked out how to manage my diet for exercising. Am struggling to control hypos without taking on calories. Would appreciate good advice on a food regime that works for exercise.
Many thanks in advance

That's brilliant. Explains a few things. The bit on hyperglycaemia affecting performance definitely rings true
thanks

it's true. This site saved my life in a manner of speaking. I discovered it a while back and since then I've managed to figure out a routine that works for me. It still involves a little extra calories or a few glucose tablets before a run but that it doesn't matter that much. Give it a go and see how you get on. If it helps keep a diary of your intensity of exercise what you ate before, how much insulin you gave with your meals etc. I also try to avoid any strenuous exercise withing 2-3 hours of a bolus as i'll have a bad hypo.

Hope this helps.
