Insulin resistance??

To be honest when you've ruled out the blindingly obvious it's best just to let these episodes go, they do no major damage and are just an irritation, as long as it's not ongoing then best to let it go.. ;)

As of yesterday I seemed to have got my levels back to normal then I go to bed and wake up on a 15......I'm so frustrated it's unreal, done a correction dose and had breakfast two hours ago and now gone up to. 18 again...I've seriously had enough of this

You said you were following some advice from the hospital - what are they advising?

As others have said, most likely causes are insulin deterioration or infection. Did you switch to a totally new batch of insulin rather than just a new cartridge? It is hard to tell if you have an "occult" (hidden) infection. Resistant high blood sugar is one of the few indicators.

Have you checked your ketones? High ketones create stiff insulin resistance.

Yes I've changed insulin, I have no ketones, my readings were back to normal yesterday until I woke up this morning and now we start all over again, the hospital just keep putting my background insulin up but Doesn't seem to be doing much, not back to see them again until Tuesday,

To me it sounds like you having injection site problems, whereby you have good control one day and bad another.

If your not happy ask to go onto different insulins, or perhaps a pump would be better option.
