Hi everyone, I just come across this article

Where beta cells can re-differentiate again so that beta cells preservation in pancreas can be achieved. Anyone ever try this or have opinion on this?

If you read up on diabetes remission and the science behind it as well as the accounts of the many people who have taken that route, you will see that in many cases their pancreatic function does become much restored.

Hi,

Am I right in reading mice were given “tamoxifen.” (An anti breast cancer drug.) Which induced a breakdown in beta cell function?
Then they by some means implanted insulin pellets by means of therapy?

have opinion on this?
How would you know if your beta cells need restoring? I suppose you could ask your Dr to test your insulin production, (good luck with that)
Usually in type 2's our beta cells work very well, we produce lots of insulin tha8t our bodies have trouble using.
Our problem is not lack of insulin, it is not being able to effectively use the insulin we do produce (insulin resistance)

For some T2's who's pancreas is starting to struggle after years of hard work battling carbs in their diet, Insulin therapy is necessary. Maybe their beta cells will recover a little when their overworked pancreas gets a rest. The extra insulin will treat the symptoms of T2, high blood sugar, but not the cause, insulin resistance.

For the majority of T2's who still have healthy pancreas producing lots of insulin their bodies have trouble using. Adding more insulin would be like trying to put out a fire with a bucket of petrol and just make matters worse
We all had Hyperinsulinemia long before our blood sugar levels got high enough to be diagnosed with T2

One study of the roles in T2D of beta cell dysfunction and hyperinsulinaemia can be found here:

Couldn't see anything in this study that said injecting extra insulin into a body already swimming with it could improve things

Hi catinahat, thank you for your response. Yes, if that hyperinsulinemia is the case then it will be worse.

As I understand after you mention hyperinsulinemia, usually it shows no sign since the blood glucose is normal. The only way to check for that before T2D is lab test, right?

Is this something preventable or curable for hyperinsulinemia before progressing to T2D, as I have 2 siblings and 3 kids that I can share about this since they are genetically link to me so that I regard high risks of hyperinsulinemia?
