Welcome to the forum.

You might find the new insulins a little more flexible regarding mealtimes & possibly adjusting wayward high bloods.
Once you get used to the new regime?

The general answer is Yes. You will have much better control with the downside of 5 'ish injections rather than 2.

I was only on fixed dose mixed insulin for a few months but I found it very restrictive around what I could eat and when,
Basal - bolus insulin regime requires more injections and more calculations but it was a relief to have the choice whether to eat and when to do so.
So, for me, I would say NovoRapid and Levemir is a better option.
