Hi all
Do you know if we can get used to our fast acting insulin after many years? I’m not sure why I seem to have higher readings recently and wonder if I need a change.
Thanks
Colette

I find my insulin ratios change sometimes and I have to adjust doses. There are lots of possible reasons eg
1) infection
2) weather
3) exercise change
4) weight change
5) gone off insulin or over used injection sites
I also find that my insulin resistance goes up if my levels are high....
If in doubt, I first change insulin cartridge and then check my basal is correct before adjusting my bolus rates....
But my rates are quite variable anyway. Currently on holiday in Spain and my insulin needs are lower. (Heat, extra exercise, extra alcohol or slight weight loss??? I have no idea, but just go with the flow.)
And some people do change their bolus insulin - what type are you on?
