Just started on insulin it bs down to 5.2 is it safe to go bed never been this low before ?

Agree with Mo, if unsure have a small snack before bed.

I agree with the others. If I knew I was 5.2 at bedtime I would and do have a small snack. Although my Basal is now well balanced I know that 5.2 doesn't allow enough of a margin.

You could as a suggestion do some bg checks during the night to see how steady your insulin holds your bg levels, from the results you can then decide if your insulin needs adjusting or your safer having a snack before bed if your levels are similar to last night.

what insulins do you take?

Thanks, tbh I've never used this insulin and know very little about it, hopefully other members may see your post and respond if they have experience of Humilin M3.

Hope they reinstate your licence soon and things return to normal!!!!

I had the same thing unfortunately. You need 3 months data on a BG monitor and a medical with DVLA approved consultant. You then get a license for 12 months at a time, so you need to do this every year. For a normal car it's different. Not so strict and generally license for 3 years.
