DAVID.

Hi Dave
welcome to the forum :)
first off sorry about the migraine -very much a bad thing.

ok -- so as a starter being hydrated should help as in the hot weather insulin needs can go up.
can you cut back on what you eat in terms of carbs for a day or 2 to assist the insulin to bring you back down into normal range
maybe an omelette or some salads or lots of steamed veg .
or try at least to cut down on carb portions

all the best

heat can be a problem
i am type 1 and a kidney transplant fluid intake for me has to be 2 litres plus per day
do try water if not have a none sugar fruit sqwash
so if you can little an often include tea coffee milk
still not sure how long you have been high i can go up to 15 but prior to that would given 3 units to knock it down what basel are you on pump or injections
do you walk or cycle if you can excise for 30 mins it can bring blood sugars down by 3/4 on bloods
good luck o go for a swim keeps you cool but do do check blood sugars before and after
vic
Well i did a bit of walking last night its got to 9.1 this morning before isulin must admit not been doing walking or swimming for sometime i must keep it up.
Dave

Hi,

How are you storing the insulin..? Keeping it cool? It will lose integrity in this heat.
Sorry to be "kill joy."
I may be wrong? But the "sugar free" "real fruit" squash could contain concentrated fruit juice, which has still got that sugar..!

Take insulin 30 before breakfast and evening meal one started isolin pen been told jeep room temp the rest in fridge i think you could be right keeping it cool but its away from the sun.
Drinks are orange concentrate no sugar and weak but there us still sugar in it.
Dave

Yeah, unfortunately it's a marketing ploy by the drink companies for mothers who worry about kids teeth & dare I say it. Diabetes... You get the picture!
The irony is even processed cane sugar came from a natural source...

I would suggest trying a different (from a cooler place.) insulin vial?? & keep it in the fridge.
Funny enough, I had to ditch what was left of my old batch in favour of a new script..
Though I'm starting to wonder if the insulin isn't at the correct temp when transported from the supplier to the chemist. Then it's stored chilled for collection.

Keep a closer eye on your blood with the meter with a fresh shot..! ;)

Hi. Yes, have enough water and avoid any fruit juices. Keep the carbs down. If that doesn't work then do discuss changing the mixed insulin regime to the Basal/Bolus regime using two types of insulin. It gives better blood sugar control at the cost of one or two more injections. BTW what is your BMI?
