Insurlin Pump

Hi,

I have just started using the pump a few months ago.

There is some criteria you need to meet before being accepted, including Hbac1 is over 9, also you need to have completed a Daphne course or something similar.

I have had type 1 for 27 years with ongoing problems from the start. The pump is fantastic although you do need to have alot of patience with it as it takes time to get use to it!

If you get a chance to try one, I would go for it, they aren't for everyone but I would definitely try it :-)

My hba1c was well under 9 and never been on daphne or desmond.. Had pump almost 3 years.
Hypo awareness and other factors can also contribute..

I almost lost my licence though.... A **** hard challenge atthe time.. Because of the swings I was getting, i got one within 2 months. Also, my clinic at the time I had never been too... My first appt was the day after my driving incident... And I was in one helluva mess with uncontrollable tears etc..
I hadnt even heard of pumps then!!
