Type 2 intermittent fasting and high blood sugars

Hi Is anyone doing 16:8 with type 2 diabetes? I have really high blood sugars in the morning and they seem to continue to rise throughout the morning while I'm fasting. Wondering if this is ok, why it is happening and whether I should use my fast acting insulin to correct it? Or take my Glucophage in the morning even though I am not eating? I don't have any carbs other than what is naturally occurring in veg. eg dinner was seabass, tiny about of roast swede and some broccoli. This doesn't seem to warrant a blood sugar of 12+. I am waiting for a call from my diabetic nurse but thought id ask if anyone else had this while fasting.

You will be getting sugar stored in your liver during the fasting time. If you have IR, then you may be struggling to clear it.
It appears Glucophage needs to be taken during or after meals: https://www.medicines.org.uk/emc/medicine/1043#gref
Are you on basal insulin or just rapid-acting with meals?
