Hi, also a first timer!
Age 57 T2 for 5 years the last 3 of which on insulin (lanctus 10 units and apidra 4 units after main meal)
HA1c now 67 down from 72 (been a lot higher)
Latest review with diabetic nurse--she has said that positive anti-GAD blood results indicate likely T1. Has ordered additional test to confirm.
Not overweight, have part tme delivery driver job and play lots of golf so very active. Maintain healthy diet
Any experience of moving from T2 to T1?

Hi My name is Sally and i live in essex, i got told i have type 2 diabetes about 10weeks ago now, we are still trying to get my blood sugars down which we cant understand it my sugars are between 11.9-20.7 yet my hbca1 blood test is spot on so i dont know whats going on with it all, im not working at present as i suffer from anxiety dpression and a personality disorder :? so not fit for work at moment, i have a bulgin L4 disc which is so painful also

I did try to join in a couple of years ago but somehow didn't manage it. I am in my 70s, diagnosed about 12 years ago, type 2. Managed to lose a LOT of weight with the help of Byetta. Stopped it for several reasons and put almost half of the weight back on. Just started Byetta again yesterday. Would love to hear from any other Byetta users about their experience. Apart from that, I am on Glucophage and Glicklazide. Marjie

Hi my name is Sally,I'm 36, I live in Chester and have been type 1 diabetic for 28 yrs next month!!!!!! I've just joined the forum and will be pleased to share any of my diabetic views/experiences with you!! I have a partner and we have 3 beautiful children together! my latest hba1c was 8.2ish but although my bloods etc are on a steady wave, the past (esp when I was younger) wasn't all that good at times!! I am an MDA and really enjoy my job!! I'm active but not as much as I used to be as used to cycle a good few miles a day! I also have epilepsy!! I dont smoke and drink moderately, but dont really have much time to anyway or sometimes just too tired! not sure if thats the diabetes or epilepsy???? Used fake tan once but never again lol!

It took a while, but when I was 14 /15, I started pronouncing my words properly (T's and H's do exist!) and taking care of my speech. I love living in Essex and being from here, however, most people don't seem to believe that I truely am from Essex anymore! Haha
