My name is Zain Agha and I am 71 years old. I am from Wellingborough, Northamptonshire.
My wife Mariam Agha and myself have set up a Group locally, called Wellingborough Diabetes Group
and we meet once a month at the Isebrook Hospital in Wellingborough.
We have about 40 Members so far and increasing.
My wife is the Chair Person and I am the Secretary of the Group and we are affiliated under Diabetes UK.

On our meetings we invite Specialists in the field of diabetes as our Guest Speaker,
through whom we learn how to manage our diabetes and live a normal life.

Associate of British Clinical Diabetologists, as our Guest Speaker.
Dr. Anne Kilvert will talk about Diabetes and Illness.
How to manage your Blood Glucose while you are ill.
How to manage your Insulin intake while you are on Steroids.

She will also talk a little about Diabetic Ketoacidosis,
which can occur in people with type 1 diabetes.

Dr. Kilvert will also talk about the latest developments
in the field of Diabetes and after that there will be a Q & A Session.

You may ask any question relating to Diabetes, that you may like.
All those of you who live in or around Wellingborough are invited to attend our meeting.
The Meetings are FREE including Refreshments.

About me...

My name is Maria, I am 28yrs old and have been t1 for25yrs (usually badly controlled, until lately).

I live in Aberdeen, Scotland with my husband of 5yrs Ian and our 13yr old cat Tooty.

I have approx 30 tattoos, a couple of piercings, nipple, navel, tongue, ears, had more but took them out.

I don't work at the minute as I have a bit of a phobia of going out alone (I am a wimp lol)

I am not religious, enjoy all kinds of music and films (prefer scary films).

Not much else to say, if you want to know anything, just ask.
