Introduce Yourself: Answer Some Personal Questions

Hi im Charlotte, im 27 years old from Worcester UK... and have been type 1 for 17 years... for years ive never done my injections OR tested my blood sugar, but recently I lost my mum and step dad, and its made me realise that life is way to short... so for the last 3 weeks since I went to the doctors and asked for help I now do my sugar at least 8 times a day and iv now cut out all the **** I use to eat... im hoping to start the DAFNE course at some point to help get my carb counting better...I feel so much better knowing that im finally back in control on myself and my life...I also have a little girl who is 3 nearly 4 so she needs a strong healthy mummy around im on two different types of insulin- novo rapid and levemir, I use to only do my levemir at night time which during the day my sugars were still HI but now I do an extra 10 units in the morning and my sugars are now pretty much stable... im getting readings of 6-9 which at the moment is bloody brill and I couldn't be happier, some people say that need to be lower, I am and will get there one step at a time... so yes that's me... thanks for reading xxx

Not all who are told T2 are put on medication for it. My mom was T2 for 40 odd years and was only ever diet controlled, our endo never tried to get her on medication because she was able to control it through changing her eating habits.

So, diagnosed as type 2 three and a half years ago (in the middle of a colostomy operation but that's another story). Been managing glucose levels OK but desperately need to lose some weight and just been diagnosed with background retinopathy.

My name is Lordly Jules, I'm 22 female.
