I live by a beach in Devon, Type 1 for 40 years and now a pump user for the last 15 years. My favourite films Breakfast at Tiffany's. Now retired, Jersey and Switzerland are favourite for hols, I avoid the sun and love the rain.
 
Hi! I'm type 1 diabetic since June, 2018. I control it via 1 injection a day, good diet (I love salads) and exercise, when I can. That's why I'm always going to work by bicycle... Nice to meet you all!

- What would you say your favourite music genre is? Metal, specially heavy and folk metal

- What is your favourite flag? None in particular

- Ever gone camping? Yes, when I was 5 or 6

- Ever been in love? Yeah, too many times XD

- Ever used fake tan? Nope

- Which countries have you visited? Well, I come from Spain, once I was in Portugal, and finally, England, where I am right now.

- Favourite city? I loved London when I visited it, but I also love the city where I was born, Valladolid

- List your five favourite TV programmes. I don't watch TV anymore

- List your five favourite films. Not sure... but definitely one of them is Sucker Punch. It's the kind of movie I watch when I'm depressed, and it cheers me up.

- Are you wealthy? I wish I were...

- Do you work? If so, as what? I'm waiter at a hotel here. At the moment, I'm at home waiting for the time to return... (joke unintended)

- List the subjects you study/have studied. Forestry, computers (programming, networks, PC repair)

- What do you like most about yourself? My ability to merge things and create a bigger thought.

- What do you like least about yourself? My inability to be perseverant or constant in time. Going through cycles is annoying.
 
I'm 59 year old female diagnosed with type 2 thirteen years ago. I take humalog & lantus insulin & just restarted metformin 4 days ago & wow I'm already noticing lower readings. Its miraculous! It really does help the body know what to do with the insulin!

Welcome to the club! If you're on the website, go to the list with various subforums, pick the one you want to post in, in the top right corner and the bottom right corner, you'll find a green button on the bottom right that'll allow you to start a thread of your own.

So if you have any questions... Knock yourself out! And I'm happy the metformin is helping.

Hi my name is Perminder male 47 yrs old got diagnosed with type 2 in March 20 so very very new to all this live In London like a casual bike ride or good long walk find it helps to relax mind and body like to watch a good film ...on.the forum to meet like minded people who.can.advise and share there experience and I will be happy to do like wise ...anything else you would like to know please feel free to ask
 

Hy mate.. Spoke elsewhere but what was your original H1?
 
Think it's 11ish? You have got from there to 5-7range under 3 month so you are doing something right in the excersise and food intake. Mine was 18.1 April22nd between 9 and 10 at present but testing after meals rise between 0.6 and 1.3 so maybe may get consistently under 7 5 with another month?

Hi! I'm Nancy Jo from Texas. I'm a type 1.5 for at least 30 yrs. I use a MimiMed Insulin Pump and test 8 times a day. Using the pump, Novolog, along with proper meal planning, exercise and rest I have kept my BS around 7.1.
I'm excited to be part of this group! Hope everyone is doing well!
 
Hi I am a new member here who just joined this morning,

I am from the UK and an Editor and writer of a new e-magazine. I also take my own professional photography mostly on food once I have styled it.

I consider myself to be spiritual not religious and I hate politics, because it creates inequality and all you need to see is what it has done to the world nowadays. It's caused huge shambles to the world.

I have diabetes mellitus type 2 and was diagnosed some 9 years ago. I manage it by medicines, diet and exercise. But thank goodness I am not on insulin and won't be, if I control it with my existing daily regime. That is so my doctor informs me.

I am right proper foodie though who was born into the family catering profession and I descend from a long line of highly successful caterers and entrepreneurs within hundreds of years within my ancestry roots.
