I and newly diagnosed with Type 2 Diabetes, and was in search of a non-invasive glucose meter when I found this site. I wanted to join because I could talk with others, learn more about the dis ease (space intentional). I am on my own, over 20 years now and really want to stay in social gatherings, online mostly of course.

Hi @G0ldengirl68 , and welcome to the forum!
Have a look around and chip in or ask a question wherever you like

Thank you Antge, I appreciate the welcome and am doing a search right now for both recipes, which I never follow, love to create my own, and non-invasive gluc. monitors.

Non-invasive glucose monitors don't really exist yet, although there are several parties working on it. Have you found this thread on it? It's very informative: https://www.diabetes.co.uk/forum/threads/dare-to-dream.179354/

As for recipes, I expect you've already found the Food and Nutrition sub-forum.
If you're limiting your carbs and you like a chat, this thread might be to your liking: https://www.diabetes.co.uk/forum/threads/what-have-you-eaten-today.75781/page-2166#post-2360317

Using a Sinocare Safe AQ smart glucose meter i paid £20 for on the web.
Not sure how accurate it is / they are. Readings have averaged 10 mmol/L for the last 3 months.
Had a reading of 24mmol/L tonight. Should l be worried?
My GP said my bloods were ok after last blood test 2 weeks ago.

Greetings! I have been lurking here because there is good info!

56 T1, 10 years. I graduated from T2 7 years ago.

I use LIBRE14 day, with cgm to phone and watch.

i was recently in hospital for dk and am doing what i can to get my #s better.

I have learned a bizzare thing with CGM.
I am a morning faster and night eater. it has cost me. my bs in the morning spikes 150 points after i wake and drink coffee. i use 30u long acting then 10fast. my body SOMEhow resists the insulin! then at 1pm-3pm i bottom out for hours! its like my body holds it, then during "eating hours" releases it.
my fault for fasting/binging. my body has adjusted. been forcing food in AM to fix it.

hope all are well and thanks for listening!!

Hi, I’m David and was diagnosed with type 2 yesterday. Have been reading through these forums and my blood glucose seems to be much higher than everyone else on here. Fasting is 12 nmol and around lunchtime before eating I’m getting a reading of about 25 - 27. I’m on metformin (one at the minute and ramping up) and 1 glickazide before breakfast and one before dinner. Hoping the numbers start dropping soon.
