Hi,
I'm John, I'm retarded :lol: .whooops..retired and 68 years old. I have been diagnosed with Type 2 for about 3 years now and have just started with Vicyoza about 2 months ago.

I am also disabled with arthritis, which doesn't go down to well with the recommendations to keep fit and active whilst on this medication...catch 22 what? :thumbdown:

That's about all I can think of for the moment.

Hey folks, I had a fasting blood sugar test done at my doctors yesterday which turned out to be 9.3, so I had to return today for another and an HbA1C test. I also had a urine dip test that was almost brown. She told me she has to wait for the HbA1C test results but with the symptoms and results so far it doesn't look good.

I only have my ears which are pierced, but my husband 16 tattoos and 3 piercings (the rest have closed) make up for my lack thereof

Hi all
I am new from today so bare with me,
My name is Debbie and I am 51, I was diagnosed 9 months ago, type 2. I am on metformin 500mg slow release 3 times a day
I am from Sutton Bridge in Lincolnshire.
The only pets I have are tropical fish,
I am still finding it all hard, I need to lose weight but I just can't do it as I do not like many food, plus I have IBS, which lots of foods make me bad, I have arthritis,fibromyalgia, heart problems,swollen feet,I am on a lot of different medication,
I see my diabetic nurse maybe once every 3 to 4 months, I have had one hypo I think it was called I could not get a reading on my machine and ended up in hospital as I was being sick thou my levels were back to normal,
my nurse is not that helpful I have rang many times as I get scared when I do not know what to do if my levels get to high but have learnt what to do when low,
I am disabled and sit at home every day but maybe go out weekend with my husband as I am in a wheel chair,
Should we get help with like a diet from our diabetic nurse? and driving I read we have to tell our insurance company and DVLA is this true? I do not drive that often hubby Rob does it all.
I am getting many hot sweats (before this heatwave came) and want to know is this due to my diabetes.
I am looking forward to speak to others that could help me and when I have a bad day, I do live on facebook as I have many friends on there but also run a hatchling group so it passes my day,

I'm Paula, from Belfast, NI. I'll be 35 next month. Diagnosed in 2003, originally Type 2, then Type 1, now LADA.
I was on 5 injections a day, now I'm on the Pump. It's going pretty well. My HbA1c has come down from 9.0 to 7.5 in a few months.

I've been engaged to Darren for almost 15 years and we are finally getting hitched in October. He is my rock.
I have a fairly positive attitude even though I have MS and Fibromyalgia as well as Diabetes, which can be very tough.

I support Glentoran FC and Manchester United FC, listen to Rock & Metal music, have a few tattoos but planning more, love
Kevin Smith and Carry On movies.
