Blues R&B catchy stuff but really only buy obscure music. looking forward, grandchildren, retirement,using my old car more, keeping-up with new stuff.Currently finding it hard to remain optimistic with work related worries. Hi I'm Sally, I'm a 37yr old T1 diabetic and have been for the last 29yrs nearly (lucky me).
I have 3 beautiful children, I live in Chester in Cheshire, England and I am a kitchen assistant in the local primary school.
I also have epilepsy.
I have a tattoo on my left wrist saying 'Diabetic' which everyone thinks was a great idea ( except my partner)
We do go camping a few times a year.
I was in love but I wonder now where that has gone??? definition of love? please... anyone???lol.
I do get angry easily but only because im a strong believer in respect and appreciation and I get neither, soz TMI, I do sometimes wonder if its the diabetes and epilepsy meds that make me like that????
I dont use fake tan, I'm not wealthy at all.
I'd describe myself as reliable, ......sorry at the moment I cant think as I feel down
The 3 things I like least about myself is I let people walk all over me, cant seem to ask for help when I need it and can be quite gulliable.
I'd like to think to some people that I'm funny and game for a laugh?? xxxx

Hello, my name is John, I am 48 years old, I live in South Croydon and I am a type 2 Diabetic. I have joined this site as I feel I need to take my Diabetes more seriously and take more control of this condition. It is my responsibility to fight Diabetes and I think I have not faced up to the responsibility as well as I should.

Maybe talking through with other sufferers (if that is the right word) will provide me with the impetus to actually take the necessary steps, rather than just thinking about what to do.

Hi all

I've been following this forum for quite a while now. here's my story, I was diagnosed with gestational diabetes with my twins, BMI of 29. given metformin and went on to have a normal healthy delivery.
my concern is that since diagnosis my hba1c went from 5% to 9% in six months, I felt unwell and despite asking the docs to prescribe me some testing strips (which were refused) I got some off eBay and they read 24 mmol at which point I was sent to hospital and put on a sliding scale for 3 days. it was a bank holiday weekend and never got to see a diabetic team as I discharged myself with a blood sugar of 13 I've been on a low carb diet ever since and have lost 3 stone since my diagnosis in April.
I'm a bit worried as I don't want to lose anymore weight, feeling really gaunt and lethargic. I'm pretty much eating to my meter HELP needed???

Have you thought about changing Dr's. Sounds asthough yours are as bad as mine. Unfortunately the other drs in my town are even wors. And my dr dose atleast approve of type 2s testing and is for the moment happy to prescribe what ever I need for the moment but has said shortly he will expect me to test 1x per day but thats still alot better than most people get. Look at the nice guidelines print them off point out that you are having trouble and changing lifestyle (you will see what I meen when you look at the guidelines) and you want the strips if he still refuses go to the practice manager kick up a stink even threaten to go to local newspaper saying dr wont follow guide lines
