Only been a member for a week or so, but I'm already being driven mad by the "complete your profile" message, so here goes.

My name is James, I'm in my fifties and I've recently been diagnosed as T2. At the moment I'm on 2X metformin 500 wotsits per day but I have no way yet of knowing if that's going to do the trick (I'm due some initial follow up blood tests in a couple of weeks' time, so will see how it's going). I'm avoiding carbs as much as I can, trying to take an hour's brisk exercise a day and certainly think that I am feeling better than I was, either because things are improving or because I'm kidding myself.

I have a wife, two children in their late teens, a couple of disrespectful cats, and I like messing about in boats. I live dahn sarf and make a living from advising companies about compliance: by all means ask me what this means, particularly if you're having trouble getting to sleep.... :)

That is all.

Hello James, welcome. Yes one or two of us have been irritated by the 'complete your profile' message too!

Hi, welcome.

Doing what you're doing should genuinely make you feel better. The metformin will help but don't go back to more carbs, the diet is the most important thing.

Good luck and let us know how you get on with your next tests.
