Anyone using Inulin regularly for diabetes or weight loss ?

A few years ago it was extolled as a wonder fibre that could help with diabetes amongst other this - anyone know if it is beneficial in any way ?

Hi @tubamanandy - tagging @shelley262 as I think she has it in the mornings. I've used it for 'intestinal transit' but it didn't really make much difference. It's supposed to be good for gut flora (or summat) but again no effect for me.

Hi @tubamanandy yes I use it every day with my morning coffee. Used it for last four months whilst losing my 36 extra pounds on LCHF. I do some intermittent fasting too so really needed something to help gut along!
I find it is very helpful and get fewer digestion issues hard to know how much diet as compared to inulin it is but I’m sticking with it I believe it works for me have had artichoke root and chicory root inulin all seem similar point is they don’t get digested just work their way through the gut. I’d recommend giving it a go it’s tastless and may help you

I've used insulin over 23 years and I have lost weight and put it on due to insulin resistance and now I am on large amounts of insulin and I have been on tablets and insulin and diet only and tablets only and now just insulin for my type 2 diabetes and to me starting on insulin on small amount is no good and I end up on the large amounts within a few weeks because I am resistant to it until I get to the right amount and then I start to gain weight and I can't seem to lose it as fast as most but I do eventually or I've missed doses and that way you loose the weight quick but it takes it out of you and it can kill you or leave you like the last time it did to me and stick me in hospital for a few days but I get over it very slowly and it's nearly killed me a few times but this time I am going slowly with it so don't take it for granted and hospital this time is for my second frozen shoulder in a few months

Inulin not Insuline :)

I've used Inulin since 2015 march.
Lowers my BG
Keeps me from being hungry all day
I started when I was told my blood lipids were high to go on Stations.
I refused statins and decided on Inulin, which I'd known of prior, as good for its cholesterol lowering properties.
The pleasant surprise was to find out it helps to curb my appetite.
I add it to meals and coffee.
I used about 20g most days in the beginning.
Now I do a lot of fasting, I use much less overall of course.
It does not spike me. It lowers my BG instead.
I get mine on eBay. There's a guy who sells 1.8kg for £17.99 whenever I see he has it listed, I buy several. All the other sellers price gouge since Angela Rippon mentioned it in the BBC documentary.
