Is anyone using a standalone (not with an insulin pump) continuous glucose monitor finding they are being contacted and switched to a different cgm without any discussion first with their GP, hospital or community diabetes team?

Hi @BadaBing, I've just noticed your thread. Did you mean to put his thread in the insulin pump forum? I suspect it might get more visibility in "Ask a Question" or T1 forums? (I or another mod can move it for you if you like.)

What cgm did you have and what are you being moved to? It does seem a little strange to me,( but then I'm in New Zealand where everyone has to self fund a cgm)

Thank you @EllieM. Yes, please could you move this post.

It hasn't happened to me. Yet. I noticed on a Facebook forum for the Libre where contributors said that some GPs and diabetes hospitals in England are switching unilaterally their patients to different cgms (usually ftom thr Libre 2 to the Dexcom One/One Plus) to save money without discussing it with patients first.

Just wanted to get a sense of how much of an issue this is in the UK.

I'm using the Libre 2.

Is there a reason why you are not interested in people using a pump which is unconnected to their CGM as there are a lot of us (most pump users in the UK are not using HCL)?

Perhaps there are still issues with Libre 2? I got fed up with them stopping working after a few days when I had paid for 14. Maybe the Dexcom is more reliable?
