Hi

I was diagnosed with T2 on Friday and put on 10 units of Levemir per night. I am testing BG 4 times a day and it is still high (started at 9.9mmol, now 17.8 two hours after lunch).

Anyway, I feel awful even though these aren't the highest readings I have had. Is this usual when you are newly diagnosed or start on insulin? I feel sick and worn out and I have a headache.

Maybe it is just a bug.

It's normal to feel ill when first diagnosed. High BG levels make you feel very tired, no energy, sometimes blurred vision etc. As your levels slowly start to reduce you should start to feel better. Saying that, there's nothing to say it can't be a heavy cold or something as well. Hope you feel better soon.
