Well, if you are not aware of today's announcement, the new restrictions or plan B has just been announced in the last couple of hours. So I will answer my own rhetorical question.
No it is not! As predicted, another variant is quickly spreading through the town's and villages of this country. Masks, which should never have been dropped from public transport, shops or gatherings, are back as well as working from home, if you are allowed. Of course if you work in the front line, and those who have no option but to go to work, are working. Which is by my calculation about a quarter of the adult working population.
Oh I forgot, Christmas is nearly cancelled again, so if you are thinking of having an illegal party.........I would make sure you follow the rules..................!
But it's okay if your having a business meeting, with cheese and wine..............!
And if I leave early to practice my Christmas carols and laugh about how I wasn't there.........!
That is okay!
But it isn't, is it!
Once again when the PM was in the commons at PMs questions the speaker got angry about the government not announcing the restrictions in a parliamentary statement before going on the television. Of course, the health Secretary, started the statement about one minute before the PM climbed the dais.
And of course the PM was asked questions about what happened in Downing street last Christmas than the questions about the new restrictions. The same happened at PMs questions.
His apology not withstanding, but why apologise, if nothing happened. He is not the only minister to trip up, we all know that it happened but denial just makes it worse if not impossible to trust these politicians that have been so dilatory, yes dilatory! In its decision making process and so obviously not following science as much as it should, because of economic reasons and libertine policies. I still can't get my head around the cop26 chair, who travelled well over 20,000 air miles, during the height of last year's peak, to over thirty countries, on a fact finding mission, without having any covid restrictions. The ex Secretary of state, had a wonderful jolly around Europe, without tests. Ministers and aides, backwards and forwards to European countries. Inviting foreign trade ambassadors, leaders, VIPs, multinational directors and of course even those taking part in professional sports, to and fro in competitions all over the world, never mind the internal flights, the observance of restrictions and still, seeing some positive tests.
There are so many different questions on so many levels of what this dilatory...............(i hope you noticed the accuracy of using this word, with the last four letters, being appropriate,) ........government is trying to profit from all the shenanigans they are enforcing really right wing policies, except the bank accounts of certain close colleagues, but never criticise the NHS, because it's all done behind the scenes.
The new boards, of health districts, which allows private companies including health insurance company's to take part in, but not clinicians and the local health authorities, which should be running the testing, have again been sidelined. This stinks!
This dilatory government knows no bounds about being short with the actual reason behind its way of handling the country, and the fallout of so many errors in judgement and the consequences to the mixed messaging whilst it pushes through controversial issues, that would not be popular from a populist government and PM. If you haven't noticed, he needs to be in front of the camera and telling us what we must be doing or backing the days announcement of something, he will be seen at an appropriate location, wearing the get up from the Village People (YMCA), looking dilatory. He is spending more time away from Downing Street, (wonder why?) Then in parliament or cabinet, he musn't enjoy parties or gatherings...........cheese..........wine.........pizza, or a good ole Pimms!
You can bet, that the next person responsible for all that is going on in number ten will be................................, someone who has gained experience in interfering in the affairs (sorry Boris!) in number ten. Mainly because there is only Boris himself left to accuse! The number of advisors, ministers, MPs, and probably more staff than you'd think, have gone now, but not Boris himself. It is everybody's fault bar his! His rule is absolute and dictatorial in its dilatory actions. His image has took a hit, but not his ego or his stubbornness. Just don't mention the Russians. Or the mates in the Lord's................ And more, and more............!
Back to the virus.
It is all the questions not answered by this dilatory government. No change to the same answer, even if it is not the same topic of conversation. What about the super spreaders?
The impact of long covid, sick pay, staff shortages in the care homes and hospitals, not enough GPs and specialists. Not the brexit we wanted.

If someone can't run their personal life morally, we can't expect them to be any different when it comes to running the country. It says alot that the tories voted for such a man to be their leader. It's interesting that when the leadership contest was announced hubby and I preferred the candidates in reverse order to what was decided. Our choice went out first and our second choice went next, so we were left with the buffoon, the one we definitely did not want!

As for covid, we are going to have to live with it. If we had had a healthy NHS at the start we wouldn't be struggling so much now. The NHS has always been stretched at Winter time, even without pandemics. Back in 1990 my mother and 2 others had a hip operation cancelled because some selfish young lads had been having a car race and took their places in the operating theatre.

Now it's the same story. Selfish people who wouldn't have the jab because they thought covid wouldn't affect them much as they were young and healthy, were taking up 6 out of 8 beds in intensive care at our local hospital a month ago. The other 2 were taken up by people who couldn't have the jab for medical reasons. If everyone who could have had the jab had had it, chances are these 2 may not have caught covid in the first place. So with intensive care full there can be no lifesaving heart ops etc. That's the real scandal.

I agree to some extent about the funding of the NHS @zand.
In every parliament, with every government, the amount of cash injection required every year has increased as the population has grown rapidly, and successive governments have not increased the financial support necessary for technological advances and research. The main cause of this option for governments are the way we paid originally for health, when the NHS was formed. National insurance was part of the legislation of how to pay for it. But the decision was made because of the burden on business and obviously the rich and powerful who only used the nhs in emergency. This promoted and queue jumped every aspect of the NHS, and the underfunding started, only the Blair government in the last thirty years have actually invested in putting the patient first by cutting waiting times and improving health care.
But within a decade with austerity, pre pandemic, the amount of funding has been slashed so much, the lack of investment in technology and the lack of all levels of staff, the low pay for those on the front line, the lack of training, the amount of bed occupancy rates were huge, the numbers of wards closed, trained staff leaving to either go to private sector or abroad, were the pay is the biggest reason for it.
This decision to not invest in the NHS, for tax breaks and having appropriate infrastructure and services, the equipment and of course the beds necessary for an awful winter and the prospect of the current pandemic.
That is why, patients with covid, were chosen and allowed to die, as the peak of the virus really hit us hard.
My personal opinion in this, is until the charade of this pandemic, the obvious purpose in how health care in this country has too many tiers of health care.
Then when this fails due to the failure of investment at the bottom level which is the majority of the population and emergency services. And the NHS can't cope with winter or covid or the minister is hospitalised and saved, the NHS is the best thing since sliced bread....! Meanwhile, the next phone call resuming work, was to certain businesses across the pond.........! And a bill to allow influence within local health committees......! The object of the Tories has always been to privatise our health service and have been chipping away behind the scenes.
Everything they believe in and do with this dogma is at the detriment of the whole population and the effect it something we all rely on.
The time and effort used by these politicians, the lies and distortions. If that was used for the benefit of health to improve our lives, that would be the right and logical decision every time.

As for wanting a Tory to be in charge of everything when money and profit is the only consideration, I cannot or will definitely not have a preference. Only someone from the royal house, would be a worse candidate. (Not the Queen!)

Where the taxes get spent is so **** about face and the list of priorities for tax money, is wrong in its value to the majority and regions, the underfunding to the infrastructure and services especially in the public sector and major cities, even London. When levelling up means that it will take thirty years to get the same transport as the capital has now, that is an indictment of the prospect of more misery and will be out of date, as is in those regions now!

The recent social care bill which will pay for future care. Is heavily dependent on those who can least afford it to pay for the majority of the funding needed.
Says it all. The money spent on the test and trace, which never worked was £38billion, and had to be abandoned by a better NHS and local health care run programme.
Just think what that amount of money could be used for in the NHS.
And a bigger amount is spent on the establishment of this country, who can afford to be self sufficient like every other one else. To keep them in a privileged position in luxury and comfort. The last time I looked, the total amount was close to £2billion per year, and the Westminster bubble including the House of unelected Lords, Is close to nearly £5billion.
And the government not only talk of millions, but billions and trillions in funding for future development. And of course through the pandemic, were squillions were squandered on their mates.

The worst part is the PM asking his Tory sponsors to contribute to the over the top make up of his flat, he asked for more than the allowance the House gets every year
and ended up paying more than my last full five-year period of wages.
When you consider his salary and benefits he gets, his family's wealth and assets.
He's laughing at everyone, including his sponsors, who will probably be able to deduct from tax because he can afford to pay for someone to sort it all out.

Did you here about the very rich man who paid over £3000 to a firm of accountants, because he did not want to pay an income tax bill of £1000 to a Labour government!

Hope you are okay.

Keep safe
